Edit: As expected, now that this is public info they patched it. The zip code check is still client side so it seems like it's possible to bypass still but I did not investigate any further.

Original post below:

Originally I didn't want to make this method too easy because it'll be easy for them to patch out, but now I'm getting a lot of DMs and people asking for gifts for referrals, and that's not really something I wanted to see so I'll post the exact method for less tech savvy people to use (keep in mind that they can still easily patch this).

I can't seem to edit the wiki (I guess because I'm a "new user" despite being on here for 9 years; maybe because my reputation is too low). So if anyone else wants to edit this in, go for it.

This method is provided AS IS; USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

So the method is simple:
1. Use a modern, desktop browser; I can't be bothered to write/transpile this to support older browsers
2. Open dev tools (for chrome it's just F12, for others you may have to google it)
3. Go through sign up. For EVERY page that you see zip code, paste the code below into the devtools and press enter. This includes the initial sign up page + address page + final payment page.
const original = Object.getOwnPropertyDescriptor(window, 'fetch');
Object.defineProperty(window, 'fetch', Object.assign({}, original, {
value: function (path, options) {
if (typeof path !== 'string' || path !== '/api/authCheck') {
return original.value.apply(this, arguments);
}
const bodyObj = JSON.parse(options.body);
bodyObj.zip = '33125';
options.body = JSON.stringify(bodyObj);
return original.value.call(this, path, options);
}
}));

Remember that this resets every time the page changes, so you have to re-paste it.

If this worked for you, I ask that you share your 2 referrals with the community and upvote this message.

Thanks!

Edit: do the code above before you press any kind of continue or submit button.

Is this a sneaky crypto ad? I remember hearing about Helium in the news a while back, and it was about how they were using crypto to incentivize running Helium nodes. Is that still going on or have they pivoted to a non-crypto model?

This doesn't require you to mine, buy, invest, shill, or do anything with cryptocurrency.
The crypto stuff is optional. Only enable if you want that.

Just treat it like a super cheap phone plan.

Used a miami address, when asked for billing zip code and changed it for other city it told me to join the wait list. How can I pay without miami zipcode?

I've been wondering about the same thing. I'd also like to know if it'll work on a smartwatch.

There are some people running on unsupported devices.
The weird thing is they split the data/voice sims.

For example my galaxy s20 can support dual esim, so I loaded the esim link they sent me and it works.
But for some other devices it requires a psim for voice and an esim for data.
As far as I know there is no psim available for data yet.
You can just use the tmobile $5 smartwatch plan. It only comes with 500mb of data, but should be enough for a watch. And there's no tax so cheaper than this plan anyway

It runs on the tmobile network and will also process data through Helium 5g hotspots when available.

I've been beta testing it for a little bit and it's pretty sweet.
In my galaxy s20 ultra, I'm running a visible pSim as my primary and the helium eSim as my secondary..

I was actually on a road trip the other day and didn't have any verizon coverage in the area, but I was able to quickly switch over to Helium with 2 taps with no issues.
Can you do the same configuration you have if your Samsung phone is locked on the Verizon network?

Signed up and works great! Got it working pretty fast within a few min. Currently using it as a secondary data only plan. Way faster than Verizon.

I was able to use a random Miami address to sign up for a data account. For billing information, put that fake address in, chances are the payment will fail and then you can immediately change it to the correct billing address/info and it won't give you any further trouble.

Edit: make sure you sign up for eSIM only at first otherwise they'll mail you a pSIM to that Miami address

They charged me $6.68 for a $5 plan. This is a scam. Unlimited everything for $6.68 instead of $5
No thanks, I'll stick to my free boost mobile Unl T&T - 5gb plan, which works fine for my needs.

Is eSIM for data-only? Or can you also enable voice/text/data without ordering pSIM?

My thoughts on this $5 unlimited plan.

1. Even if you don't live in Miami, you can order the data-only eSIM using a fake Miami address and a virtual CC (to get around billing address check). Total cost with tax/fees for Miami address is $5.51/mo.
2. You don't need to participate in the silly mining thing or the hotspot. Instead, you can rely 100% on T-mobile cellular network. But with data-only eSIM, you won't get a phone number. Phone setting shows the number as "Unknown". Can't call/text.
3. Once you activate, you can change your account address from Miami to your real address. You can then order the physical SIM for voice/text and mail it to your address. For new users, voice works on physical SIM and data works on eSIM, which is silly. So the list of supported phones is limited.
4. I advise against porting your main number to Helium. Many ppl are doubtful of the longevity of this service.
5. You can invite 2 ppl, who don't live in Miami. (Sorry, no more invites left to give out.)

1. My total is over $6. It depends where you live
2. I got esim with data and voice
3. How do you order a physical sim? Doesn't give me the option

1. The instruction above is for new Helium plan (for Miami) so they must use Miami as the address.
2. Seems you were a beta user. I (new user) don't see voice option with eSIM.
3. Again, only applies to new user.

Can I port in a number, or do I have to get a new number?
