Made in China, not South Korea, if it matters to you
My Japan-made zoji still has the nonstick surface fully intact 20 yrs later. I would not get a cooker that makes you eat that coating off over time. Dang.

Is there an option for one without the coating?
This price is cuckoo!

Some cheap and basic brands do not have a non-stick pot. You will have a layer of rice crust in the bottom.

Made in China, 1/4 of Chinese made is extremely good like Tiger LCD cookers (Mines in 14th year), iPhone/iPad(10th year), Telsa

Made in Japan/Taiwan, 3/4 of Japanese made is high quality like Tiger Cookers (Mine Lasted 20 yr), Lexus, Acer (13th yr)

Made in US, 1/2 of American made is good quality like Toyota, Speed Queen. GM and Ford is alot of crap.

Per https://cuckooamerica.com/products/cr-0605f, made in China. 👎

I rather buy DPRK made knockoff since they make it better than any Chinese rice cooker.

If you mark not helpful then that means you love CCP.

🤪😛😜
DPRK is North Korea...

I love my Zojirushi! I make steel-cut oats often and was lucky to find a deal (years ago) on the model that has the option to make it. I occasionally wipe the rubber O-ring on the top with oil to keep it in a good condition. I make mostly steel-cut oats and basmati rice in it I've even left it on warm for over 24 hours straight.

I'm tempted to get this one too for the price to see if it can hold up so I can keep it at the office.
What's your steel cut oat recipe? Love my Zoji

Honestly I usually eat it plain or with a little honey. I've tried my best to get accustomed to not putting a lot of extras in my breakfast food (if I don't skip it altogether due to intermittent fasting). I used to add blueberries though or if I was making it for more than just me, milk and butter.

If I gave my Spanish mom a $50 rice cooker she would throw it at my head. $25 dollars max for a rice cooker. Your cooking rice rice not filet mignon.
Cooking rice is an Asian culture. My elephant cooker is like 400, newest induction but I use it everyday.

Speed queen is really ALRIGHT. It's such a myth that speed queen is that good, nah, it's just alright.

SQ has different models

$1300 TC model speed queen is a 1990s top load washer. You can get 85% similar quality with Whirlpool/Magtag, Amana for $250-400 top loaders with gentle agitators.

I wouldn't touch TR speed queen with stupid electrics, those are terrible.

Does anyone know what settings to use to cook parboiled long or extra long grain rice? I just bought it wanted to give this a try.
