I had a microwave and vent in one. Vent was almost useless. I decided to get a standalone hood vent and microwave. It was worth it! Whole house doesnt smell anymore when cooking. Anyone cooking a lot and have space for a separate microwave should switch imo. Oh also a hood vent is easier to clean. Gets surprisingly greasy
