I have one. It's handy sometimes but I don't love it.
The ground has to be pretty flat (or at least even) for it to stay stable. If it's slightly off, it will 'walk'. And if the ground is level, sawhorses would work just as well.
The one area that it excels in is how small it packs up. It feels pretty flimsy when you're setting it up but it is very stable once it's on flat ground and has a top clamped to it (I usually use a 2'x8' chunk of subfloor).

I have very limited space in my garage and back patio and I've been considering something like this to use as a tabletop when doing home maintenance tasks, using my circular saw, or just need a flat surface.

For those who are more experienced, what would be better, a traditional sawhorse? or this product? I'll be using a sacrificial piece of plywood no matter which option I go with. Would love to get thoughts and input from others.

Anyone manage to get free shipping? I don't see any way it could work, as the promo doesn't say it affects shipping & the site clearly states free shipping over $199 (maybe OP bought 3?).
Purchased 2 sets and Shipping was only $6.49 (to CA). Still came out cheaper than other stores with free shipping. All in for $154.37 for two

Would this be study enough to use as a step for loading pave stones into a truck bed?

I'm in a similar situation and every time I've contemplated this I've just gone back to my folding saw horses from Ace. They've been posted here several times. I used them with some concrete countertops this summer and I trust the weight. Just throw down a sheet of pink foam which I'd probably use with this table anyway.

My other problem with these is that this is too small. And the 4x8 is too big.

I think the real play is to buy the 4x8 unit and take out a section, leaving a 2x4 and a 4x4 base.
