The io series brush heads are the equivalent of expensive printer ink cartridges but the toothbrush is also expensive. For the price of this you can pick up a regular oral b for around $50 on sale that has pressure sensor for brushing too hard, that's the fanciest feature most you will probably need. The basic one rotates, and basically moves in 3 axis. Up, down, and side to side. Not sure what else these new ones could even do that the previous model doesn't already. Twin rechargeable brushes is enticing but remember the brush heads are what's going to get you in the long run and it's the reason they're offering such a discount from 350.

IO basically combines oral b's old brushes with how soniccare uses theirs. I got the iO4 for like $35 and like it a lot. https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/873496

$8 a head every 3-4 months isn't too bad. Theres also off-brand heads now for like $2.75/head.

Normal oral b works well too but I like these, plus they're a lot quieter.

Some of these comments obviously have never owned this toothbrush… my dentist gave me one as a present years ago. You couldn't purchase it as it was exclusively given to dentists. The toothbrush is in a league of its own. Nothing is really comparable to it.

Returns to Oral-b are a pain, so only buy if you are 100% sure that you won't be returning.

You're right. The reason I don't have one is because I'm not their target audience. I looked into their specs and the price and I couldn't justify what they were asking for what is essentially a motor that moves and vibrates. The cleaning modes and Bluetooth for me just seems like gimmicks. I'd probably want my toothbrush to work on the best preset and do all it can do by default. I definitely would agree they probably clean better than the base model. But probably not 4x better. But it's also a lot cheaper than a dentist visit for sure either way.

Thumbs up to you, I was in the market for a toothbrush and after seeing your comment, turned out the discount is still available.

Thank you good sir.

Consumer reports rated the iO series above sonicare, and above Philips' other models.

Costco currently has the IO 5 two-pack with extra brushes on sale for 120. I do not need the extra features of the io7. I like the io5 brush.

My wife just bought us these and it was strangely painful around each crown I have. I am returning it and going back to a regular electric toothbrush.
