These have been on sale for $250 every holiday season for years now.
It is the 6quart model and comes with additional pouring shield (essential imho) and a scraper beater. Those along with Costco's unbeatable return policy make it a win.

I managed to get one for free due to a BB + FedEx shipping screwup. They delivered to the wrong address (they sent me pictures and everything lol, but it wasn't my house). They then refunded me, but eventually another one showed up at my house also.

I tried calling 3 different times to pay but they wouldn't just shutup and take my money.

It's a solid mixer, we also bought some attachments for it (the slicer/shredder kit). Takes up some counter space for sure, but no regrets (even if we'd paid the price).

Really? I hated the pouring thing the one time I used it

My teenager is getting in to cooking and requested this. How much important is tilting function that's in artisan model? That's my holding me back from pulling the trigger.

Also seems like kitchen aid is more popular and also more expensive than other brands like cuisinart. I was curious why that is.

I also thought instant - same company as instapot has a good model with 600w power. Not sure I need more power. It seems to have most features.

I'm so undecided about the Costco vs this one. Is it actually the same model that Kitchenaid sells or is it sime Costco only model. I remember soneind posting awhile ago that they needed to find out which accessories were compatible as the Costco is not the same as if purchased from Kitchenaid?

KitchenAid is built like a tank. If they're gonna stick with it, highly recommend a KitchenAid as it can handle anything you throw at it. KitchenAid is a great company. I've had mine for almost 25 years and still runs as new. I find the stand lift version is easier to work with than the tilt model. Hope this helps!

Doubt it. The 5.5qt is already almost 50% off before any additional coupons. Best Buy also has this listed for the same price as it's early Black Friday sale. I actually picked up the Deluxe 4.5 quart on sale for $259.99 and used the new account discount along with the 5% off. $240.00 shipped is a pretty nice deal!

I know that was the case before when Costco sold a model with a tulip shaped bowl and different bowl arms. Don't believe they sell that one anymore, and they just have one with standard bowl and arms now.

Apparently the 5.5 is the new gen (pro name gone) and has a better gear and motor setup thst should be more reliable and much quieter than the pro series. I still got the pro 5 on clearance from kitchenaid because I wanted the milkshake color.

Can no longer recommend this product. KitchenAid has release official guidance that mixing bread dough or pizza dough or anything similar will void the warranty.

Since they changed/cheapened the gearing several years ago, the newer units are failing under heavy work, and rather than fix the problem they're voiding people's warranties if they tried to bake bread.

For shame!
