If you buy this lens in, minimally, the kit with the Sony Alpha 6700, no lens mount cap is included (and the camera's body cap is excluded).
Not sure about A6400 kit but if it is the same as A6700 kit, Sony is really cheap out on not providing the camera body cap with it. Yes, you can buy the camera body cap for $6 to $10 depend on quality of the cap but doesn't make sense not to provide the cap.

For longer zoom lens, here are a review for Tamron 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 VC VXD APC-S lens which include comparison of other longer zoom lens that is good for APC-S camera. Like full frame Tamron 28-200mm F2.8-5.6 RXD actually is lighter compare to the 18-300mm APC-S lens.
