Dont forget that its impossible to Unlock Bootloader in Verizon versions of phones

So here is the Deet's:

- It is locked to Total By Verizon but most Total by Verizon sim kits show both "Total by Verizon" and "Straight Talk" logos on it. So to be safe consider those networks or Tracfone direct as Network options. May be able to "rebrand" for Page Plus usage but most reps don't do that anymore.

- Some people have reported you only need to pay for one month but you MUST wait for 60 days to officially unlock the device. You can pay for 2 months if you want to be on the safe side.

- Once unlocked(after 60 day wait period) it is essentially the unlocked North American Google Edition so it will be the same as buying a normal Unlocked Pixel 6a directly from Google when they were sold through Google. Note: OEM Bootloader Unlock is permently disabled as it is from a Carrier not From Google Direct.

- Some people have noted a few things about this phone that were not great: Fingerprint unlock is not as smooth as other phones, Heating issues(I did experience this one), Poor network reception as it is using the First gen Tensor modem like the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.

- Target Employees may be able to get an additional discount on the phone, but after Target learned about the Slickdealer abuse of Team Member numbers and discount they changed the way you access the TM Discount now and it is no longer a Team Member number anymore. In Short: You must actually work for Target now and work for at least 1-3 days to use the new way to get a TM Discount. "TM's that are caught giving random people a TM discount and is using their discount in a way that is against Target's rules can be disciplined up to them losing their job". "TM's can share their discount with "select people" that Target deems eligible like Spouse's and select other people".

5% off with Redcard still applies to everyone weather a Team Member or consumer. So you might want to try and sign up for a Debit Redcard so that you can get that 5% off any time you shop at Target with No Monthly Card fee(Active Bank account required as transactions will be pulled from that account).

- Lastly: If you sign up with Total by Verizon you can get Disney+ included for either 6 months or for the life of the plan depending on which plan you Choose. Total plans that include Disney+ for the life of the plan are not subjected to rate increases.

Or

Sign up with the Straight Talk Gold or Platinum plan and get Walmart+ Included for the life of the plan. Walmart + now includes Paramount+ as well so you will get that included too.

Great deal but the complaints about the fingerprint reader are real, it's super frustrating. About half the time I have to let it fail several times and enter a pin. Currently thinking life would be easier if I just turn it off.

Target BF ad! There are 3 TBV devices and only one requires activation.
Will this deal be available online or only in store?

Okay I see it. Terms states "one promotion per Total by Verizon account". I already have an active Total by Verizon account, so don't know if I can just upgrade the current line without buying a new service plan.
You should be able to buy the Pixel to upgrade your current device. You can buy the Pixel right off the shelf without any requirements.

Should be both, but inventory dependent

THIS 100%

People need to stop being sheep and allowing these companies to rule your lives. You paid for the device, you should OWN it.

Would you buy a Windows or Apple computer that the manufacturer holds the only Administrator account on it?
Would you buy a car that the manufacturer controls where you can have your vehicle repaired, purchase fuel, or get an oil change?
No, of course you would not.

Help us stand up and push back against this garbage forced upon everyone by over-controlling tech corporations.
One day you will not own anything you pay for if we do not fight against this.

(fyi: This is uniquely a USA problem. The rest of the world has not had these artificially imposed lockdown restrictions for years now. Time we put an end to this nonsense.)
The problem is you are addressing subsidized phones. You can buy an unlocked phone but it will be much more expensive.

Can't unlock bootloader to install custom roms like graphene OS is a hard deal breaker.

Once Verizon stops rolling their bloated updates to this phone in 1-2 years. You'll be stuck on the old OS with all its security flaws while Pixels with unlocked bootloaders can then install a custom ROM and stay updated.

This is a good deal if you do not care to truly own what you pay for.

HARD pass.
I really doubt all of that since Tracfone and its brands sell the GX7AS model [reddit.com], not the Verizon GB62Z model with the permalocked bootloader.

Can anyone confirm who is correct on this matter? I am interested in one if I can put GraphneOS on it and not have to pay for the two months of service.

YMMV. I've had my pixel 6A since launch and the only time the sensor fails is if my hands are slightly sweaty

Subsidized phones are almost always more expensive than their unlocked counter parts once you do the math on postpaid plans vs prepaid plans.

He's actually talking about phones with a locked bootloader as well. The phone doesn't have to be "subsidized" to have a locked bootloader. It should be straight up illegal for any phone manufacturer or phone carrier to lockdown a bootloader to a device. If you pay $1000 for an electronic device, you should be able to do whatever the heck you want with the software on it.

At launch, Google was selling this 6A for $150 with a trade in of old phones that weren't even worth $60, completely unlocked, and with free pixel buds lol. Two years later, this locked down bootloader variant is still more expensive AND you are stuck with whatever plans they are offering. I realize we don't have time machines, but you can certainly get unlocked variants of phones for cheaper than subsided versions

Although you only need one month of service for the phone to unlock (after the second month), if anyone is going to get two months of service, you may as well use a referral code (can sign up for rewards within two weeks of activation) and get the 3rd month free ...

Has anyone bought this yet? Fine print says this requires a TBV unlimited plan for 2 months which is $60/month, making this $220.

Bear in mind a lot of places only give $100 trade in for the 6a

Are you sure Total by Verizon's rewards system is still working? As far as I know it's been dead since last year.

We were able to check out without them requiring activation. We bought a service card for my dad just to have service though.
