Dont forget that its impossible to Unlock Bootloader in Verizon versions of phones

So here is the Deet's:

- It is locked to Total By Verizon but most Total by Verizon sim kits show both "Total by Verizon" and "Straight Talk" logos on it. So to be safe consider those networks or Tracfone direct as Network options. May be able to "rebrand" for Page Plus usage but most reps don't do that anymore.

- Some people have reported you only need to pay for one month but you MUST wait for 60 days to officially unlock the device. You can pay for 2 months if you want to be on the safe side.

- Once unlocked(after 60 day wait period) it is essentially the unlocked North American Google Edition so it will be the same as buying a normal Unlocked Pixel 6a directly from Google when they were sold through Google. Note: OEM Bootloader Unlock is permently disabled as it is from a Carrier not From Google Direct.

- Some people have noted a few things about this phone that were not great: Fingerprint unlock is not as smooth as other phones, Heating issues(I did experience this one), Poor network reception as it is using the First gen Tensor modem like the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.

- Target Employees may be able to get an additional discount on the phone, but after Target learned about the Slickdealer abuse of Team Member numbers and discount they changed the way you access the TM Discount now and it is no longer a Team Member number anymore. In Short: You must actually work for Target now and work for at least 1-3 days to use the new way to get a TM Discount. "TM's that are caught giving random people a TM discount and is using their discount in a way that is against Target's rules can be disciplined up to them losing their job". "TM's can share their discount with "select people" that Target deems eligible like Spouse's and select other people".

5% off with Redcard still applies to everyone weather a Team Member or consumer. So you might want to try and sign up for a Debit Redcard so that you can get that 5% off any time you shop at Target with No Monthly Card fee(Active Bank account required as transactions will be pulled from that account).

- Lastly: If you sign up with Total by Verizon you can get Disney+ included for either 6 months or for the life of the plan depending on which plan you Choose. Total plans that include Disney+ for the life of the plan are not subjected to rate increases.

Or

Sign up with the Straight Talk Gold or Platinum plan and get Walmart+ Included for the life of the plan. Walmart + now includes Paramount+ as well so you will get that included too.

Great deal but the complaints about the fingerprint reader are real, it's super frustrating. About half the time I have to let it fail several times and enter a pin. Currently thinking life would be easier if I just turn it off.

So I just bought this on a whim, but could use some clarity on the path to unlocking.

Paid $99 plus tax and "Activation Successful" is printed on the receipt. I asked the Target employee if buying two months TBV service was required for the discount, and he said no, "just buy service online whenever you want."

So if this phone is already activated, will it unlock in 60 days regardless of whether I've had it on TBV?
Or do I need to be connected TBV service for the unlock to occur?
If I interpret the OP to the letter, this won't unlock since I didn't buy 60 days of service at same transaction as the phone?

I'm in no rush to unlock this, 60 days is fine, but I will ultimately be using it on AT&T so ideally would pay as little as possible for any service necessary to achieve unlock.

Not available for shipping or out of stock. Purchase in store is live but the price seems only good for online purchase.

Total is same as Tracfone/ST. Text UNLOCK to 611611 twice if doesn't reply. Pixel 6A automatically unlocks like iphone.

Only need pay for first month to unlock on 60th day like ST iphone deal.

No way I'm taking any chances with this after my 2 phones from Tracfone were not unlocked after 1 year, and the rep I chatted with claimed I'd not had the phones for up to a year. As a result, he asked for $6 to unlock each phone.

Meanwhile, the service to the flip phone which was activated in July was deactivated in October for the no reason. I'll have to pay for a new package to continue using the phone.
i just unlocked the Moto G Stylus 5G QVC Deal at 60 days from the Unlock website no person was needed. You confirm the unlock date by texting UNLOCK to 611611 on any TF/ST/Total if they don't unlock it on that date you use the website or file complaint with FCC

You can also put this Total Pixel 6A on Tracfone account since its the same company.

So 40 days from now I could buy a Tracfone $15 plan for one month, then 21 days after that send the UNLOCK text, and voila! the phone is unlocked?

Alternatively, if 61 days from now, my sibling using Tracfone service moved their SIM to this 6A temporarily, just to send the UNLOCK text, then I could unlock the 6A without paying for any service at all??

if the IMEI works to activate on Tracfone website if not you need Tracfone customer service rebrand it. it will unlock on Tracfone same as Total.

Was it $99 in store? Don't see many available in my area but also not sure how reliable the inventory tracking system is..

The Tracfone website rejects activation ("brand error") if I try to activate as a "new phone / purchased through Tracfone", but it accepts the IMEI if I try to activate as "your phone / unlocked phone bringing to Tracfone."

So am I safe to proceed with the latter method, and subsequently unlock at 60 days?

Sorry for the tedious questions, thanks for the help.

Yes, it was $99 in store. Immediately rang up that way, despite the website wording of "online only". I didn't need to ask to honor online price or anything, the Target system directly rang it up at $99.

Website showed only 2 in stock at my nearest Target, and when I arrived there was indeed 2 on the shelf.

I found that the Pixel 6a fingerprint reader cannot function properly with tempered glass screen protectors. If using no screen protector at all or a hydrogel screen protector, then the problem mostly goes away.

My colleague just bought one from store. He said the phone box seems it was opened before then resealed, he wants to know if it's a used phone, also there is no SIM card pouch.
Is yours sealed with original factory tape? SIM card pouch attached to the back of the phone box?

Same with my box, there is tape over original bar code sticker on one end of box, re-sealed tape on both sides, no SIM pouch.

I doubt its a used or refurb phone . . . my assumption is that the phones were removed for re-configuration (updates/locking/bootloader locking) or maybe to put a TBV SIM inside the box. But I haven't opened the box yet to inspect the phone. Waiting to clarify & get comfortable with the sequence to unlocking and eventually using on AT&T

Visited 3 Targets for 2 Pixel 6A.
First Target: out of stock online, out of stock BM
Second Target: 2 in stock online, 1 visible behind locked glass door. Got it, other one is lost according to associate. Online stock updated to 1 available immediately after checkout.
Third Target: 3 in stock online, 1 visible behind locked glass door. Got it, others were in the back according to associate. Online stock updated to 2 available immediately after checkout.

No plan required or even mentioned by any associate. Light upsell (1 question) of protection plan and red card.

FCC ID: A4RGX7AS
IC: 10395A-GX7AS
Tracfone label covers the rest of info.

Target receipt:
Includes the imei of the phone
States "ACTIVATION SUCCESSFUL"
Return by 01/09/2024

Phone box has been opened by Tracfone to insert the SIM card and resealed. Successfully rebranded phones to Tracfone and activated on Tracfone service. Like any Verizon phone, phone will unlock 60 days after activation, not 60 days of service (READ IN BETWEEN THE LINES). Unknown is how it will unlock, will it automatically unlock like Apple, will it require a manual request like Samsung, or will it require unlock codes to be entered like Motorola.
