That's funny - for me, non-touchscreen is a feature.
To each his own, but I think touchscreen sucks. It just gets my laptop, looking messy, and the trackpad and gestures are good enough. And any touchscreen will suck up more battery, and generally have more glare in the sunlight.
I agree that it is very useful but for a productivity machine I'd prefer not. No fingerprints and a thinner and lighter device.

What's the difference between the posted model and this model from costco?

https://www.costco.com/lg-gram-17...53189.html

The specs look the same to me, model numbers are slightly different.

I'm not sure that's right. I just tested my 4k monitor with the HDMI port, and it allowed 60Hz at 4k.

Those who planning to upgrade the SSD. Are you upgrading for size or speed or both ? I am comfortable with the 1TB but if I can install faster drive would it be beneficial or the one that comes with it is good ?

It is at least an HDMI 2.0. Even my 12th Gen Gram 17 has an HDMI 2.0 port.

It may be difficult to find a bag that will fit the 17" model. 16" has a lot more options because that's the largest size Apple makes. I like the bigger screen though. If you get the version with an RTX card you may find better performance in Excel.
The Gram 17 is quite compact for a 17" laptop. It fits in most bags meant for 15.6" laptops, and will definitely fit in any bag advertised as a 16" inch laptop bag.

My 16" Gram I bought brand new from Amazon 3x.. all three had at least 1 key that wasn't functioning properly. The quality control on these Grams is the worst I've ever seen. However, I got an amazing deal on it and ended up sending to LG for "repair" however they promised me in 7 - 10 business days I'd have it back.. and so far I've been waiting for 3 weeks while the "part is on backover".. what the F? it's a keyboard on your most popular laptop model.. why out of stock????

Anyways, can I ask for help from the good people of Slickdeals? Besides the issues with broken keys from the factory.. I noticed one other issue with these Grams.. namely the laptop does not SLEEP automatically after closing the lid. Is anyone here knowledgeable about how to fix this problem? I double checked all the settings.. I turned off that built in Windows "feature" via the registry that sometimes keeps it awake.. however, it still would not sleep automatically. Grams are the only Windows laptop that's ever had this problem. Since I carry my laptop around all day.. I really need to be able to close the lid quickly and have it sleep (so it doesn't burn up in the case).. yeah, you can manually put it to sleep but that's a bit annoying.. Please if anyone knows how to fix this.. I would give you the soul of my first born.

Thanks!
You can select what the laptop does when you close the lid (nothing, sleep, hibernate, power off). These settings are in the control panel / power options. A quick way to find the settings is by clicking on the window key, and then typing "lid". It should be one of the results on to the top. Something lie "select what your computer does when you close the lid". I have set my Grams to hibernate, but you can select sleep if you want the fastest wake up.

Best Buy also has the OLED LG Gram 15 Superslim on sale (effectively $950, including my Best Buy membership). I considered getting that one instead: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-g...Id=6540476
Don't get the super slim. It was worse thermals, a low res OLED screen (worse due to OLED subpixel layout), much smaller 60Wh battery vs 80Wh on the regular Grams or 90Wh on the ones with RTX GPUs.

Exactly I can't figure why anyone thinks a touchscreen laptop is desirable.
Just because you can't figure it out doesn't mean others can't either. Touchscreen on a laptop is very handy just like Touchscreen on your smartphone. The day uncle Timmy brings touch to the Mac lineup would be the day every one will wake up to it. Sad state of matters.
