Great ball for the price. Good distance and spin. ProV1 in tournaments and Maxfli tours in regular rounds. Not much difference for me - 6hc.

If I didn't already have a box of Kirklands I'd jump on this.

Since we're sharing, 16 hdcp.

Which better quality balls? Maxfli Tours are among the best.

Cheaper? Weren't they 3 dozen for $96? This deal essentially gives you a dozen more for 'free.'

Which ball is better is subjective and that's cool. But "far better" could be a stretch.

It was 37 dollars a dozen and BOGO. I got 8 dozen for 150. Also, I played a few of these and I would say they were consistently shorter than v1x and star xv. Also, didnt care for the feel compared to srixon.

Oh, I only saw the buy 2 get 1 deal, not the BOGO. That is a good deal.

For anybody interested in numbers, this is as good a resource as any: https://public.tableau.com/app/pr.../TableData

A quick summary comparing the Z-Stars to the Maxfli Tour lineup is that driver distance is essentially equal. The Srixons are longer with irons for high swing speed players. The Maxfli's are longer with irons for medium swing speed players. The Maxfli's fly higher, the Srixons lower.

Assuming this is an individual hitting the balls considering there is spin axis and there's a pretty big deviation. I believe there should be a robot test that was done either this year or last. Additionally I believe the maxfli is made in the same plant as vice.

I play with what I find in the woods, I pick the best out of them and leave the rest in the cart or give them to someone who hacks and doesn't care what they're hitting.

It's from MyGolfSpy's 2023 golf ball test. It's a lot of individuals hitting hundreds of shots each. That's what controls for the variation.

Yes, MaxFli and Vice are made at the Foremost factory in Taiwan. It's where many tour level balls are made. It's why Vice balls also perform so well in independent testing.

Pretty poor analysis considering these people don't even appear to be fit correctly for their clubs. The spin rate on the fast SS driver tests are out of control. 2600-2700 spinrate is going to kill the distance. Only way to understand how the ball truly performs is by testing it in the way it was designed. That spin rate is 30% above optimal avg spin rate for anyone swinging over 105.

It's not just a handful of guys. It's a relatively large population of golfers who perform the tests. They range from high handicappers to low handicappers. Importantly, the same guys were hitting each ball. So, the guys spinning it at 1,800 were included in the data for all balls tested. As were the guys spinning it 3,600.

Since the good is included with the bad, it doesn't affect the analysis. For instance, you would anticipate different numbers for each ball if you just used the good golfers, but you wouldn't anticipate a difference in how the balls compare to each other.

edit: and fwiw, there's a difference between optimal and attainable. Per Trackman PGA Tour stats, the numbers aren't far off from what the pros are pumping out. https://blog.trackmangolf.com/tra...our-stats/
