Just picked up an Oral-B iO Series 8 Electric Toothbrush (White Alabaster for me) for $136.

Oral-B iO Series 8 [oralb.com]

Even though it says "Save $80 on your Oral-B iO8 purchase, only from Oral-B. Limited quantities available and no additional discounts apply. Applied automatically when added to cart." I was able to get the coupon code "QUIZ20" to deduct $33.99 for a total of $136 with free shipping.

The problem is that the prices of electric toothbrushes keep going up. In a few years, the cheapest one will be $100 and the most expensive one will be $1000. When does the inflation end?
But they have apps now! And emojis on the handle!

I was thinking about the iO series when I saw some deals appear but it seems like there are real issues with the new head design when it comes to cleanliness. It seems like the new head and handle design is hard to clean and dry unlike the old ones that I have used from Oral-B.

I saw this mentioned in multiple reviews and this YouTube video, https://youtu.be/0JD2dH5-uGs

Good info. I've always made it a habit to disassemble and rinse after I'm done with mine but very good to know.

I periodically soak my brush head in either mouthwash or hydrogen peroxide, maybe once every 2 weeks. Should probably do it more often after watching that video. gross.

the battery in any electric toothbrushes don't last so either way you are force to buy a new one every 2 yrs or so. I hate the fact that the battery dies out in the middle of brushing my teeth hehe

I got 10+ years out of my last one, and the motor quit before the battery did

I think you guys dropping $136 on a toothbrush are nuts. $136 would buy me a lifetime supply of manual toothbrushes and toothpaste.
I will NEVER go back to a manual toothbrush. The difference in how much better I am brushing is amazing.

It's not inflation if they're just ripping you off. I always thought inflation had a legitimate reason behind it besides more profit and price fixing.
