I've had this mug for 4-5 years using it daily M-F that entire time and it is still fine. Love it
Sure people want to hear first hand, but really only constructive comments. When you say they come with two because one will somehow become faulty it's anything but helpful. Maybe mention how they become faulty. It's also possible you are very rough when you use or wash this product. By your own admission they break within a year but you've been buying them on and off for 5 years? Why do you keep buying them if they keep breaking? You sound more bitter than black coffee to a first time coffee drinker. Sorry I didn't mean that I just thought it would tie this comment together. I didn't mean to get more heated than fresh poured coffee in this product 5 hours after it was poured. Anyway, I bought the deal so that if one breaks I have a backup. Cheers 🍻
I've got probably 6 with the oldest being from about 2012 or so. The first issue has just arisen. One of the rubber stoppers that seals it whistles a little when the coffee is very hot. I've been meaning to email Contigo, because I'm sure they'll just replace it for free, but I haven't got around to it.

One of the reasons I love the Snapseals, and why I believe you are generally inaccurate about them being failure prone, is that they are so much simpler than the Autoseals. There's just so little to go wrong. Also you can vent a Snapseal to cool the coffee.

I do not like the rubber sleeved ones because they will eventually stretch out, and they get gross underneath the rubber, but otherwise they seem to last me many years even after dropping them.I never put them in the dishwasher. I hand wash them and they last.

Nice. Unfortunately, I've had contigo mugs on/off for about 5+ years. I always have an issue within a year. They're just so cheap, it's a hard deal to pass up on for most.
I would say that its the rule, rather than the exception, that posting your personal experiences with products will get you thumbed down by people who are offended that you dared to insult their favorite brand name, and, by extension, your personal experiences are irrelevant or false - theirs is the one true experience.

FWIW, we bought two 20 oz. Snapseal Byrons in 2017-18 before this current redesign for about this price, and they still work great ... but we only use them maybe 6 times a year, handwashing only. Burnt my tongue on 5-hour old tea last week. And of course, you have to be diligent about lining up the threads.

And I'm not going to insist that because I bought mine 5 years ago and use them rarely, they must be made the same now, despite obviously being redesigned, and are God's own gift to humankind for daily use.

Wow just saw I got downvoted lol I've always thought a "slick deal" is a discount on a product of good quality. I just thought ppl would want to hear first hand from someone who has had used these products for numerous years. Weird.
Most people on here or other deals sites don't care about first hand usage. When I was on Twitter the other day someone posted a deal for Pureed food for babies, and immediately 5 people commented about the deal. The deal only make sense if your able to use it, but to resell baby food? Crazy how some people are willing to make a buck.

Bought 2 earlier this year from Slickdeals, the 16oz and the 20oz. Like the design, very easy to clean and solid construction.

This comment makes no sense to me. I always see people asking for first hand experience here because they want honest feedback. What does 5 people commenting on a Twitter deal have to do with reselling baby food. It's funny you want to slam people for reselling baby food what do you think Walmart does. They buy baby food from Gerber and then resell it. Gerber sells them a product and they resell it. Crazy how corporations make money.

Replacements are very YMMV I contacted Contigo about the plastic failing and the rubber grip on a mug flaking off in under a year and they told me to pound sand.

Do they send replacement lids? The canisters for me aren't the issue. The lids are terrible!! And now mine leaks even when locked.
