There's a newer generation of this cup that solves several of the problems we had with this generation. Namely, this generation's silicone portion is harder to remove and clean, so gunk gets caught under it (newer gen has one big silicone piece that comes out). Also, this gen leaks from the base, but new gen has one formed piece instead of a "separate" base.

Looks like the "good" ones we've liked so much are called the Leighton Tritan cups. They're about the same cost.

These cups are amazing. There are no moving parts that can break like the folding straw cups. The rubber base acts as a shock absorber and nonslip so they don't break as easily and leak. The straw is in two parts so the whole thing can be easily cleaned by hand or dishwasher.

Heads up the straw is plastic. I had thought it was silicone. In case that's important to anyone.

Seems like the price is now higher than it was before it dipped to $9. Before the sale it was at $16 but its currently at $19. While I LOVE these cups I dont think its worth at the new increased price.
