Idk if they changed this but it looks like the toughpower gf1 which was tier A, and is the same one I've been running (850W) for the last year and a half. It has been great.

Edit, it's actually not the same one. This does say 2024 version so idk if it's just a different shell but it does have a different model number.

This is the one I'm running

https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltak...88GMT?th=1

A noted difference between the two from the Thermaltake site is that the one I have says high quality Japanese capacitors, the one from this listing just says high quality capacitors. So I really don't know. I paid $89.99 for mine on prime day 2022

Other differences:
2024 version = 120mm fan vs 140mm in the confirmed tier A version
2024 version = Vietnam manufacturing vs China in the confirmed tier A version
Wish they were gray so it matches the dust color

What tier is this on the PSU list? I'm not sure if I'm confusing this with an earlier model.

Has a smaller fan and is also 20 mm shorter in depth vs previous version. I imagine the poorer airflow and smaller footprint could be a bit louder under load, but it could good for those needing a compact unit

Just installed the 850w version. Works great. Cables were easy to route for a super clean install.

I got the 850w GF1 around Christmas time. It works as it should. Obviously can't speak to its long term reliability yet, but I've had no issues. My only complaints are that there is a slight whining noise that I can only hear when very close to it (so not audible during normal use) and the cables were VERY stiff, which made it hard to route in my particular mid-size case. Also, the cables were fairly difficult to lock into place on the PSU. there wasn't much of a click while doing so and the female connectors in the PSU itself seemed to flex while trying to insert ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) the connectors.

But overall, its in my PC and works fine. Running an i7-14700k and rtx 3070 at the moment.

Is this one manufactured in Vietnam or China, and which one is tier A?

How good is Thermaltake's 10-year warranty?

Has anyone done it? How did the whole warranty process go?

USPS Shipping is usually not cheap; might as well just buy a new one for something that's heavy.

side note: other sites like walmart.com also got this psu for the same price as of Jan 30, 2024 1pm Eastern Time.

I think this PSU has some complaints about the GPU cables not being able to take more than 300 watts. So the 850w likely wouldn't be a good choice for the RTX 4080 or the upcoming 4080 Super.

I just ordered 850W one from walmart.

30 days walmart return.

And Chase Freedom gives me 15% off, up to $15 cashback on this walmart order.

If things dont work out, I'll just return it.

If everything is ok, I will save the box and the invoice for the 10 year warranty.

China is the official tier a 1 but apparently they alternate Vietnam and China because even the prior version with the Japanese capacitors has Vietnam as a manufacturing location apparently.

But again. The tested tier a one is definitely the China made one
