For $70 more, the G16 deal seems a better deal all around, with better CPU, GPU and display.

That's a gaming laptop, this is not. Know the difference.

I should just stop remarking on your deals...you always have to belittle someone don't you?

Since the parts are almost identical between the two, please inform us less worthy people what the difference is? Because one "looks" like a gaming laptop and the other looks boring?

I'd take the G16 all day long for $70 more (which, regrettably now, I voted UP).

No one is belittling anyone. People should know the difference and purpose of these two laptops.
The G16 screams gaming laptop and is hefty which people would not want to carry or do productive work with.
The Inspiron is for the latter with just a little bit of gaming capabilities.

A person looking to game would not consider this and a person looking for productive work and commute would not look at the G16 even if it's just $70 more.

Got this before but had to return due to horrible screen and bad speakers. Somehow the matte finish on the screen didn't feel good. Also the speakers had worst clipping issues. Otherwise nice laptop to have.

got my inspiron 16 2 in 1 with intel i71360p and the fan noise is really annoying even with basic web surfing.. no matter what mode i select with power settings, i couldnt get the noise under control.. not sure if the thermal management is bad with these units or this is something normal for the 13th gen i7's.. machine is located in a well ventilated space with ample air clearance

Any chance you're using an external monitor? Some of the dell inspiron's pass the external monitor connection through the dedicated gpu and it causes the fans to constantly run. I was going to jump on one of these deals since I have a $200 semesterly amex plat biz credit for dell, but it's hard to find a model that doesn't have some engineering complaints online.

I am indeed using an external monitor connected to the thunderbolt type c port , but that shouldn't tax the gpu to this extent IMO. i'm also getting the Lenovo yoga 7i 14 inch i5 version and I'm reading horror stories about the hinge getting worn out prematurely. So I have to decide between these two where I will most likely keep the dell and return Lenovo , as it's practically not usable with broken hinge

I've run into the same problem with a few different laptops. An ASUS Vivobook I had needed to be left open when hooked up to a monitor, otherwise it'd overheat and shut itself off. MacBook Pro would do the same thing until they released some type of driver update that calmed it down.

G16 doesn't have Thunderbolt 4, correct? Can you still use a docking station?

The G16 does have a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) port. Yes, you can use a monitor that has a docking station built in, or one of the hundreds of USB-C docks.

Ok. here is the bad news.. I got my Dell 16 inch 2 in 1 laptop recently and the lid tension was too tight, which is very obvious that over the period of time the metal hinge attached to the display frame will break (no matter how gentle you are going to be with it). So i did watch couple of youtube videos to relax the hinge mechanism a little bit loose by adjusting the tension. With lot of excitement i opened the laptop only to find out that the black bracket is completely blended with the display frame and cannot be removed to adjust the tension of these hinges... So that one life saving option is also down the drain and there is no way for users to perform any preventive adjustment.. except to keep the lid open all the time. Worst part is , mine is touch screen and i dont want to risk it .. Here you go dell.. have your machine back..
