Good deal. I have Amex $40 off $200 on multiple cards. Would be all over this if it had USB C charging.

Nice build, but a lackluster display at 250 nits.

hmm, I got Amex blue cash & gold cards, but neither is showing this offer on the list to add. Wondering what's Amex's criteria on who's getting this offer

How does this compare to the other Lenovo front page deal, especially in terms of durability? https://slickdeals.net/f/17262403-lenovo-ideapad-1-15-6-laptop-ryzen-7-5700u-with-16gb-memory-amd-radeon-graphics-512gb-ssd-cloud-gray-429-99-tax-best-buy

same cpu, same ram, Lenovo has touch screen but this dell has double the storage amount.

I have that Lenovo and am pretty happy with it so far. As you asked about durability and not performance (which has been fine)... From a durability perspective - the Lenovo is slightly nicer than I'd expect at this sub $500 pricepoint (as the 'regular' price is $800) but by no means does it feel as nice as my old Dell XPS (which are ~$1500-$2k laptops). For my use - around the house and not taking anywhere outside of the home - it's fine, almost nice to the touch. But it does feel 'less than durable' if that makes sense. Like I know not to fling the screen open, slam the screen shut quickly, casually toss the laptop onto the couch, etc.

As I'm still in the return period from Best Buy, I've been keeping my eyes out for a better spec. The Ryzen 7 with 16GB made me click on this - and it is tempting as I have some unreasonable loyalty to Dell (worked for the company many many years ago). It comes down to what you value. I like the touchscreen and the 300 nits of the Lenovo. I don't really need the 1TB HD of this Dell - 512GB is more than fine for my needs. I'm not going to delve into the documented Dell Inspiron hinge issue, as I've never experienced it myself. But, if you do a google search for any of the lowest grade of laptop for any manufacturer (which the Inspiron is for Dell and the Ideapad 1 is for Lenovo), you're gonna find that it's a supposed problem with any cheap laptop.

One thing I did see that turned my head a little was this one: https://slickdeals.net/f/17264833-dell-inspiron-16-laptop-16-1920x1200-ryzen-7-7730u-16gb-ram-1tb-ssd-480-or-less-free-shipping as it has the Ryzen 7 7730u, which if what I read is correct, is the newer version of the Ryzen 7 5700u (in both this Inspiron and the Lenovo) - but I wasn't able to figure out if it's definitively better than the 5700u. But again, it has the non-touch 250 nits screen.

Hope that helps.

I was looking at the Inspiron from 2 days ago. Similar price and specs but had USB-C with power delivery.
