I would say its not even comparable. 11 gen intel was like the first generation that Intel realized they needed to put actual graphics cards back in their CPUs, and even then they werent very good esp w/ efficiency.

11th gen intel was like comparable to 3rd & 4th gen ryzen. Ryzen Z1 is 7th gen Ryzen essentially. Z1 and Z1 extreme have RDNA3 graphics w/ 740m & 780m both in benchmark and games the intel iris xe graphics from this generation would be anywhere from like 40-70% slower than the 780M in the Z1 extreme.
I thought battery life got worse with 12th gen, making 11th gen more appealing for some who just do general browsing/office work and don't need added performance (at least this was the case with thinkpads). Also it seems like surfaces are always lagging behind with CPUs anyway.

Really just wish more companies would put AMD chips in well built ultrabooks, since their performance per watt seems to be much better than Intel still. Lenovo Z13/Z16 seem decent but hate usb-c only. T14s is a little bulky after having an x1, and the speakers/standard screen are very lackluster.
Having owned two laptops with this cpu, I agree with what others are saying. It is soooo noticeably weak. You can thank AMD for Intel upping their game in subsequent generations.

This selling authorized?
i7 is a little old but build quality will be much better than the cheap Dell Inspiron deals going around.

Hi, for gaming purposes, how does the processor here compare to the Z1 extreme processor in the Asus ROG ally given both are at a similar price point here?

Already bought a Asus, otherwise would have jumped onto this because the surface laptop 5 is only a slight improvement over the 4, right?
