I haven't gotten one in years.
Highly doubtful, especially if you're willing to try working on a bike. Derailers suck, but can eventually be tamed

Not familiar with 29" bike, is that pretty big? Too big for 5'8?

*edit: I see it has a size chart and recommends for 6'+

Not bad! I'm disappointed all the 20 inch are sold out. I've got a 7 year old that is ready for that size

Depends on frame size I just got my 5' 3" wife a 29er and small frame. Fits her perfectly. Better off going to Kent's website directly to get the real info though.

These are basically disposable bikes. Not sure how any new bike could be cheaper these days, but also not saying you should buy it Smilie

Don't do it, these use the lowest quality parts and the build is really bad. You are much better off buying a used bike.

Aluminum frame, however the rear part is steel most likely which is not bad considering it has no RD hanger. No cassette at this price, freewheel only. These are miserable bikes as of weight- they are not good as MTB for many reasons, and suck as flat road riders due to full suspension added. With that I see that people use them as city bikes without fear of being stolen, they are good enough for bad sidewalks. lol, I also think it has 48 spoked 19mm wheels used with 2.25" MTB tires
