They're usually filled with sand or small shot (tiny little metal balls) that prevents them from bouncing on impact. Good for assembling stuff and 'persuading' things into place without causing damage.

Link is broken or deal is dead.

Edit: Works now. I was being taken to the Amazon dogs screen before.

I read the reviews and the product description as well and still can't figure out why I would need this if I have hammers already…. Only reason I can come up with is these are small so if I want a small job then use these…. But if I want to blow it wide open on a big blow job I will stick to my usual hammers!

1lb deadblow is only $6.99 at hf every day price

https://www.harborfreight.com/han...41796.html

if you need a 2.5 lb which is bigger than this deal it's only $7.97

https://www.harborfreight.com/han...69003.html

The other two are so small they won't be useful. With something like this that will get abused you're better off buying HF with lifetime warranty. Read the Amazon reviews, seems like the plastic is too thin on these and will break quickly

Don't know if this happened to anyone else, but the deadblow hammer that arrived was 8 oz whereas the one shown in the listing picture is 24 oz.

As a fake woodworker who never finishes projects like making a mallet. Would a deadblow be good for chisel work? I dont care about surface area of a mallet, but want to know if they'll have the same ooga dooga as a mallet would. I use a regular nylon hammer right now and it's very light.
