Careful...this is a gateway drug. If you're like me, you end up blowing four figures on the ember shield, Surround table, the cover for the Surround, the roasting sticks, the fire poker and grabber tools, 4 Adirondack chairs, 2 cubic yards of gravel, 100 or so brick pavers, 200' of outdoor hanging lights, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Stop being honest...we are all used to your lies now! Lol
I have this pit and my biggest issue is it doesn't have a large heat radius. By making it smokeless, I believe it redirects a lot of heat vertically instead of horizontal. Which is fine for most people but when I make a fire it's usually for warmth so we can stay outside.

What weren't you impressed with?

These are great if you don't want/have a fire pit or more specifically want the smokeless approach which is the biggest draw. Just have to set your fire up appropriately to get the smokeless feature.

Only $10 more for this than at Target right now, but this has a stand included. Add in a pellet converter even at retail and it's still a better deal than the essentials bundle deal from a few weeks ago.

Saw the YouTube videos of the Chinese knockoffs. I can't tell from looking at them I guess the higher the value the more joules you get for your pennies???

You need a Heat Deflector, huge difference, otherwise the heat airflow goes upwards. It's fun to watch the flame when it reaches secondary burn.

Try the color packs sold by Solo -- cheap chemical fun for the whole family. Roast your marshmallows first though!

Imagine someone responding with this thinking it's somewhat helpful to the thread.

what's worth $200 to you doesn't have to be worth $200 to someone else.

Heat deflector obstructs visibility. And also makes it difficult to put logs in. Wood needs to be processed to fit between deflector and stove. There isn't a good way to remove the deflector and put back on after poking the fire. They should've added an arch handle on the deflector so it can be lifted off and on.

This is true but if I'm honest I rarely use my deflector since the majority of the time the extra heat isn't necessary… At least in North NJ.
