bought the regular pixel 8 from mint for super cheap a couple of months ago, battery life is great and the phone is pretty buttery smooth, idk why the other comments say otherwise 😆

This seems to be an excellent deal. Best price on cheapest network. Not sure why it's being down voted.

Their order processing systems seems to suck though. I ordered one and never got confirmation but credit card got charged immediately. Contacted support and they seem to have some internal issue with the order they can't fix and promised refund. Hope that will come quickly and may try ordering once again if deal still available.

Been using Mint for years, service works great. Can't beat the price.

Haven't noticed any such issues on my Pixel 7 for the last 1.5 years. Still a great phone overall. Is Pixel 8 worse?

I don't think the phone deal actually requires port-in. That requirement is only for the 6 month service deal (pay 6 months, get 12 months service).

Phone deal seems available to anyone, including existing customers. Phone is locked to Mint Mobile for one year though.

And most of those comments are by people who don't even own Pixel phones.
This is a good deal if the phone wasn't locked for such a long time.

It's locked until you call them and ask for it to be unlocked.

Yes, all correct, phone and plan not tied together at all. Even if you don't port in, you still get 6 months on the plan (you lose the extra 6).

Phone will be unlocked after 2 months per their new policy.

It will also be unlocked after 2 months automatically, a new feature as part of the T-Mobile merger.

It is for me and several others search Google. But for some it seems to work fine

You are missing the 1 on the left of your 2!

This is from their website and has not changed since the merger was approved.

Double check your settings. Specifically Adaptive Battery. That setting when turned on can heavily delay background processes like notifications, text messages, etc.

Also go into any app setting that you are having issues with and make sure to allow unrestricted batter usage through the Allow background usage setting.

Doing both of these should help to alleviate the issue you are having. I ran into the same issue on my 8 Pro initially. It's all of the heavy battery saving features that prevent the phone from checking to save battery that causes the notification delay.
