This seems to be an excellent deal. Best price on cheapest network. Not sure why it's being down voted.

Their order processing systems seems to suck though. I ordered one and never got confirmation but credit card got charged immediately. Contacted support and they seem to have some internal issue with the order they can't fix and promised refund. Hope that will come quickly and may try ordering once again if deal still available.

Been using Mint for years, service works great. Can't beat the price.
Exact same thing happened to me this week and was told I had to cancel my order and reorder. What a big waste of my time! I've been with Mint Mobile for almost 2 years and just decided to hang on to my 6a and ditch them after my annual plan expires in 2 months. Enough is enough.

This is from their website and has not changed since the merger was approved.
Yes, until it changes, I am not getting their 12-month locked 8 pro.

Specifically
Phone unlocking. If you buy a locked phone from us, as long as it's not flagged for fraud or under financing, we'll unlock it after 60 days. Pretty Minty, if you ask me.

Their website will take some time to get updated as the policy has not become official yet, but it was posted a week ago and says "in the coming weeks". Has also been clearly stated as part of the merger plans in order to get it approved.

Worst case just call in and tell them you'll be travelling internationally. But I suspect in a month or two the new policy will be in effect and phones bought now will get unlocked when they hit the 2 month mark.

And most of those comments are by people who don't even own Pixel phones.
This is a good deal if the phone wasn't locked for such a long time.
It comes with a year of service, so why is the lock an issue? You can unlock when your bundled service ends.

I understand lock being an issue on deals where they force you into an overpriced "unlimited" plan (like the current Google Fi Slickdeal), but that is not the case here.

I re-ordered (after first order that didn't get confirmation email was refunded) and it appears to actually be shipping now. So hopefully smoother from here on out.

Because with these deals people often look to resell the service and use the phone with their existing carrier. Mint didn't used to lock Pixels but now they do (I suspect for that reason).

Most report it isn't too difficult to get it unlocked, and upcoming policy will be unlock after 2 months (matching T-Mobile's policy).

Unlocked in back market is $610
Used instead of new and with no service plan. Add 12 months of service to that price, and this deal wins big.

Also no one year Google factory warranty.

Haven't noticed any such issues on my Pixel 7 for the last 1.5 years. Still a great phone overall. Is Pixel 8 worse?
No, they're just making things up. I've had this phone since October and never had an issue. It's a great phone.

SD is the only place where people feel entitled to premium phones for free and then they complain about them 🥺 I guess that's the world we live in. A bunch of entitled itches

This discount & 12-month plan deal is also live for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a.
8a - $399
8 - $559

I'm on Visible and paying $25/mo. for me and player 2. If I do this deal, I can get 2 pixel 8a, and 2x1 year of service for $978 @5gb/mo, or $1,038 for the 5gb/mo plans. JUST for the plans it's $300x2, so $600/mo. Basically I'd be paying $378 for two new pixel 8as on 5gb plan or $438 on 15gb plan.

This is pretty legit. Probably jumping this week. Just need to figure out SyncThing...

Anyone know if this will work as an existing mint customer (phone number already ported in)?

Can confirm, I called. They would not honor it for an existing number. Not sure if there are any tricks to make use of this and have two numbers or something.

YMMV with customer service, they wouldn't budge with me.

If you are an existing customer, you can now purchase just the phone without any plan after logging in to your account.

I'm interested, but the 128GB is kind of a killer for me. I already am near maxing out my 512GB SD card.
