Reviews say if you don't let the gel beads soak and expand enough this could happen
As a parent of young teens, the nerf gel blasters are a ton of fun. We use them outside. No darts to clean up, getting hit stings just enough that you care but not as much as a paintball. Great product, great deal.
lemon would be too heavy. Probably that why you got a few feet.

Gel blaster are great. The gel blaster raid is pretty cool, it shoots 5 gels at once, the ghost has a hop up that gives you extra range.

The raid is fun. 5 gels per shot. Decent spread. Similar distance as ghost. You don't need accuracy.

nerf reviewers gave the gel series a fairly low score across the board. not sure how it compares to other brands.

Is this particular Nerf Gel Blaster any good or does it jam or misfire a lot?

No, you didn't follow directions and let the beads fully hydrate to full size.

Love the gel series. Just got this to go along with the single shot rifle and two pistols I have.

This is actually a pretty good use case, It's unlikely to hurt them as long as you're careful to not shoot from too close, but it definitely scares them away. I use a similar one for the groundhogs that dig holes in my yard.

I'd recommend the rechargeable one because you don't want them to learn to just be scared of you pumping it before shooting.
