The Ultras are very light and feel comfortable for long hours of use. I don't like the controls and I find bluetooth connectivity is intermittent upon establishing connection; (once connected it's fine). I find the immersive sound feature gimmicky. ANC is about the same as the 700 series. The Bose app (is it Music or Connect?) not great, basically for EQ adjustments. Bose customer service is offshore, not helpful. Have not tried Sony XM5.

the ongoing QC45 deal for $150 is a way better value
Just check RTings for the objective measurements. Nobody has better ANC right now.
