Backyard where there is no traffic, yes. Otherwise, the batteries go out crazy, a few weeks top. And Energizer Ultimate is crazy expensive. I had to buy rechargeable 1.5V

If you got the free storage years ago with earlier generations before Blink switched to subscription, they grandfather you in and these can be added at no charge. As other posters have listed, you can do the USB drive if you need to save. Regarding battery life I am an "average homeowner " - watches front and back doors for in and out, deliveries and most overnight clips catch occasional deer or cat. For four years I get low battery alert consistently around 6 months . Best price is Target on line at $2.50-$3 per AA Lithium so it costs me around $10/year per camera. (Have SD alert set up but last few times it was any cheaper they sold out fast). Happy with Blink. Resolution enough for home monitoring.

We have ours hooked up to solar panels. It has been great and haven't changed a battery since we put them up, over 4 yrs ago, and its on the driveway area, so lots of clips.

These are great for the price if you have the free 7 day recording option available (for folks who had created their account on or before April 15, 2020) https://support.blinkforhome.com/...ge-options

I started out blink cameras, but retired those and replaced them with wyze/tapo cameras that are wired to power. Blink wireless cameras have so many limitations:
* Only recording on motion, and often miss the beginning of the motion
* No AI human/pet/car detection so you get notifications for wind and shadows
* Slow to connect and live view is laggy so you cant talk to someone at the door effectively or even just see whats happening

Does anyone know if the Blink xt2 cameras will work with the Sync Module 2 in this kit?

The Sync Module 2's end of life is 2028. The Blink xt2 camera's end of life is 2024. So if the Blink xt2 cameras can be added to the Sync Module 2, does that extend the xt2 camera's end of life to 2028? In other words, is the Blink camera's end of life based on the Sync Module's end of life or the Blink camera's end of life?

Wondering this since I have so many xt2 cameras right now.

It does not! You can plug a USB stick into the sync module and it will save the clips locally.

No subscription required unless you want your clips stored in the cloud

the tapo camera is really the cream of the crop. Affordable, free human/vehicle/pet notifications (text only no image/video clip) and just pop in SD cards if you want to view recordings, plus they provide rtsp if you want to have a DIY cloud service. Purchase long power cables and decent wifi router and your house is covered.

Any one using them in their Ring environment? I had to purchase couple of additional Ring cameras for my backyard but these are way cheaper and hence tempting me big time.

Ring ecosystem here. Thinking of buying additional and jumping into another system for additional coverage.

Almost worth it just for the 4 energizer lithium batteries, the way the cost on those have gone up. Luckily, I found some great rechargable lithium batters on amazon and they last just as long as the energizer

Good cameras but live view takes about 20 seconds to connect. Useless if using these to talk to someone at the door or other location. Primarily good for using to record motion clips.

Wired is definitely better, but I can't argue over the price. I'm grandfathered in so no subscription fees. I have a lot of these running outside. For those who need to replace the battery often, take a look at your motion settings and remove the areas that you don't need coverage. Yes the motion is not the best, but I find that if I have several cameras with overlapping coverage, I get what I need.

I just returned a version 4 outdoor because the Nighttime was awful....worked very randomly but mostly was just dark if there was not enough light no matter what settings I had it on for infrared.

Anyone else see that?
