I'll never buy from Sweetwater again. I bought some Fingerease from them via eBay years ago and they would call my house periodically after that wanting to talk guitars and build a relationship with me. It was the only purchase I've ever made through them. I ordered online so I don't have to deal with people. I'm looking to make my strings not squeak, not to make a new friend. The fact that it was an eBay purchase and not even direct through them made it that much worse for me. Imagine if some other random eBay seller called you at home after you bought something. Seems crazy to me.
Oh no, a store's employees actually try to talk to you, ask about your interests, try to find ways that they could help you, and try to build an actual person to person connection rather than being a faceless corporation that couldn't care less about you as a person. The horror!

On the one hand, I get it - sometimes my Sweetwater rep calls when I really don't want to talk to a sales rep. On the other hand, he only calls or texts every few months to update me on new products I might be interested in - and the recommendations are based on a conversation we had and not just random stuff he's trying to push. He's actually trying to be helpful, and I have to give him and Sweetwater credit for that.

I think these D'Addario strings are great. They sound good, feel nice, and last forever. And I mean forever - I have a set that I left on to see how long before the strings start to corrode or break or won't stay in tune, and we're approaching 5 years and they still play well, bend just fine, and stay in tune.

What do you guys need 10 packs of strings for? You run a music studio that has a ton of house gear or something?

If you have, as some do here, half a dozen guitars, even one string change a year accounts for six sets. If I were a gigging artist, I might change often just to avoid string breakage or degraded tone at a given show.

The D'addario strings are sealed, so they should stay fresh a long time.
