Klipsch has been a little weird with their models, stuff like the R-12SW and the R-120SW which had nearly identical specs turned out very different for me (the R-120SW being of much higher quality and bass output than the R-12SW, which came off "muddy" and "loose" on both that I bought). The R-120SWi seems to be different than just a wireless version of the R-120SW, and has had many complaints.
As for the rattling, and not being able to hear/feel it, a couple things I'd recommend: Subwoofer feet. I bought some (the SVS Models, but there are much cheaper) and it made a huge difference in my subwoofer by eliminating rattling and giving much better bass output for my home theater.
For getting the subwoofer to give the effect you want in your seating position, do the "subwoofer crawl" -- it sounds, and looks, very stupid but it actually works. Put your subwoofer where your sitting position normally is (normally on a couch, but in your case.. on your desk chair) and then literally crawl around the room until you hear the areas getting the best response from the sub. Sometimes it's right next to you, but a lot of the times it's the corner of a room or somewhere you wouldn't normally expect. Once you find that, move the sub to that spot and you should get a much better output in your seating position.
Also, you don't need to buy expensive subwoofer feet. You can pick some washer dryer noise isolation pucks (cork and rubber pads as well) from Amazon or Home Depot for the same.

Costco has Klipsch R-120SWi Wireless Subwoofer for $199 before tax after $50 off.
valid 7/4/24 through 7/8/24. While supplies last..
Seems decent deal in this price range for 12inch driver unless you want to spend a lot higher for a high end subwoofer.
I've had good luck with the first one I bought. It's behind the couch about 20 feet away from transmitter, so I don't know how well it would work beyond that for people (since previous commenter said to "read threads before making a decision".
I just purchased another one. Can always return it. This is going in my other house so i will come back and replay and set it farther away to test it out
Are we paying a high premium for wireless or is it a good price even without that? I need to get a sub for my home office and out it next to my desk because when it's placed across the room, somehow all the lows get canceled in my room, but you can hear it rattle upstairs.

Got this on the last deal to pair with a bose 900 soundbar. HIGHLY recommend even at $250.
Wireless works perfectly, never a glitch going on 6 months about 25 feet away. It works with or without the wireless dongle.
As far as sound, I am very happy with it. It not a 1K level sub like my HT setup, but it is very powerful and pairs well with soundbars (fills my 16 x 20 2 story greatroom without issue). Hits hard, no issue with any rattling or port noise. I do get a light "bump" when the soundbar turns off, but its not a bang or anything like that. More of a confirmation it went into power save mode.
I may have a good experience as the bose soundbar "AI" mic tuned the sub with its software and allows level tweaking….so I really didn't need to mess with levels to get great response which wasn't overpowering. Compared to a Samsung Q990 setup, this sub leaves the Q990 in the dust - and also sounds great on music, not just a one trick movie boom machine. I dont think you can find better (certainly not wireless) at this pricepoint.
Note this is a LARGE sub, so make sure you have room for the cabinet! Mine barely fits under the end table.

Thank you. I will buy some long subwiifer cables (can I use old RCA cables and just use one channel of it?) because I have to route the cable through some obstacles
Thanks again for the suggestion.
You most not know about subwoofer prices. This is a good price even for a wired Klipsch sub this is a good price for a lot of name brand subs.
No I don't. That's why I asked but I've seen subs for $100 and $2000..
Not sure what this one is without wireless I am not well versed in pricing of this specific type or model.
