Looks quite powerful compared to those handhelds with the RockChip SoC.
Probably better if you buy the 128GB version right away, because finding the games yourself must be a hassle, right? Should be worth it for the extra 10k games.

does it? lots of ram doesn't mean it's powerful. Seemingly can do some PS1 but at that price point it should be a lot better. Stick to one of the major brands or get a super cheap throwaway, this is the worst of both worlds.

The specs for the device say it is a Rockchip SoC (the same RK3566 used in many of these devices), so it's not more powerful.

Low quality roms on a low quality sd are also not worth it for most people. In most cases buying your own sd card and sourcing your own roms will be cheaper and a better experience.

It could also be a weaker Rockchip device like the RK 3326.

One of the rare circumstances where the knock-off is better than the genuine thing.

It's an RK3566 according to the specs [notebookcheck.net]. That would also match the Quad Core A55 operating at 1.8ghz listed here.

Either way the person I was replying to was incorrect in saying it's more powerful than the RockChip SoCs in all these handhelds.

The RK3566 is a pretty decent chipset. It can play N64, psp (a few games wont run at 30fps, like god of war), dreamcast, PSX, and everything below that. It's pretty much the middle ground chip on the market right now and I think it's just about perfect for these upper-range budget handhelds. Other devices that use this chipset are the RG35XXSP, the RGB20SX, the Anbernic Arc, and lots more. It's probably the most popular chipset for handhelds on the market right now. I have a RGB20SX and RG35XXSP and both run great. I would say you can get a Trim Ui Pro for similar price and although some say the chip in that is not as good I think it is, and it runs N64 better.

project Project X is not this device. That is a different device that is nowhere near as powerful. It is however available on aliexpress under M25 handheld for $62. I'm actually thinking about getting it to do a review.

Yeah I got a Trimui Smart Pro for half the price of this system so I don't see the need for redundancy here. I do want to emulate gamecube/ps2 though but I see the Retroid Pocket 4 is 200ish which seems like a big jump in price. I've gotten one of those new moto g powers from straight talk and hopefully that with a telescopic controller will do fine for more modern systems.
