This is the same laptop that was $300 at Micro Center (think they sold out now).
This is a GREAT laptop for the price.
Here are the specs:
-i3-1220p (which is equivalent to i5-1235u) 10 cores 12 threads
-4GB soldered RAM + 4GB RAM in slot (can only upgrade one slot, obviously. speed is 3200Mhz)
-Thunderbolt 4 port !! (can do video, fast transfer speeds, and laptop can be charged through this port as well)
-1920x1200 IPS touchscreen 60hz (screen is great but it's glossy, so in well lit rooms or outside there will be a lot of reflection)
-wifi 6 + BT
-1080p front camera with privacy shutter
-HDMI 2.1
-256GB NVMe SSD Gen3
-Touch numpad that lights up on trackpad (pretty neat feature)

The rest of the specs you can find on office depot's site.. Seems to be accurate
Bad hinge design, will break screen glass. Unbelievable that they keep selling this flawed design.
That listed on the manufactured box, but i3-1220p can go up to 64gb. I bought a 16gb and now I have a total of 20gb. Works fine.

Is the Ram upgradeable? One review stated 4GB soldered, & one 4 GB slot?

With the last 12+ years of ASUS product support and experience, I would avoid them at all costs. They're going to blame you for the bad hinge design.

According to this Asus listing, there is one slot for upgrading RAM:

Does it happen if we do not use in tablet mode and just use as basic laptop? That's what I intend to do. TIA
