I'd pay $20 more just for this to come in a blow molded case of some sort.

I can see it both ways. If you don't already have a toolbox or have a need to transport these, a blow molded case would be great. But if you are always working out of a big tool box in your garage, such a case would likely be tossed in favor of the socket storage system that you are already using.

I have occasionally ripped the cover off of a blow molded case to put in a tool box drawer, but only if the tools within are stored intelligently and with minimal wasted space.

Yep. A regular 6 or 12 point socket set doesn't get a whole lot done under the hood of many modern vehicles.

Uhhh, what? I've never heard of 8 point sockets till now. Do they work on normal hex bolts you find on most cars? Or just square bolts? I have a set of 6 point sockets.

These are so well put together, especially for German cars.

8-point sockets don't work on 6-point fasteners. They would typically be used on square head bolts like those found on pulley or fan set screws, shaft couplings, hydraulics, drain plugs, lag bolts, and various plumbing parts. 8-point bolts exist, but they are pretty rare unless you work on older German cars or airplanes.
