Initial flight to earn the companion pass has to be booked between 9/3-9/5 and that flight flown before 11/20. Once that is done, the companion pass is added to your account and you can designate someone to be your companion on future trips.
Then, if you decide to book a flight between the dates of 1/6 and 3/6 of 2025, your companion flies free* with you.
