UnMetal is a 2D stealth action-adventure that pays homage to the classics with a healthy dose of humor and satire. You play as Jesse Fox, who is definitely NOT an elite commando, under arrest for a crime he didn't commit, and must escape a covert military base using his wits and fists.

It's definitely a metal gear if it didn't take itself too seriously type of game. One gripe I had was that it felt like there's a few too many bosses thrown at you. Warning to new players: if you're stuck at a "boss" that you cannot beat no matter what, it's because you're not supposed to win. You're supposed to avoid him. This was very frustrating as I tried every combination to beat him. I gave up and read a guide and it tells you to just not enter the building at all. It was not obvious in the game you're not supposed to do that.
I paid 10 dollars for a. old school metal gear experience and thought it was worth it to play at least once so 5 is an easy recommend.
I'm playing this currently, really enjoying it. It helps to be generally familiar with Metal Gear for the humor, but not mandatory at all.
The game is silly-yet-clever funny, playing with expectations and tropes. I'd definitely recommend it, especially on something like Switch or Steam Deck👍
