Nice deal at $9 if you have an Amazon Visa and get the additional 25% back, although I think it's limited to 1 switch. At some point if/when Matter matters, I'll switch over to these from my (non-Matter) TP-Link Kasas, which have been great.
I know there's a lot of discussion about whether TP-Link's Tapo and Kasa lines will co-exist or if one will be phased out, my money's on the Tapo line remaining as the Tapo app supports both Tapo and Kasa, but conjecture on my part.
These are WiFi switches and require a neutral present in the switch box, FWIW.
Haven't quite kept up with all the Thread/Matter jumble..
Does this mean, if setup right this can be *completely* local with no internet/WAN connection, just like other HA protocols like Z-wave/Zigbee/BLE ? No cloud dependency is a must for any HA device in my home.
