Not exactly.
It allows anything electrical to be disconnected with a key.
If the device is always on, then yes. So, if you wired this to a lamp that was turned on, the key would turn it off and on.
However, if you wired it to your TV, it wouldn't turn the TV on. Why? Well, does your TV turn on when it is plugged in or does it still need you to hit the power button?
Nissan/Infinity and Kia/Hyundai keyless entry FOBs have been exploitable by relay theft in the recent past. In short, the key FOB is sitting in your house always broadcasting the signal to unlock your car, start the engine, etc and thieves get close enough to your house with a device to amplify the signal to the car sitting in your driveway and then they're off with your car: https://leasing.com/guides/relay-...-avoid-it/
Nissan/Infinity and Kia/Hyundai/Genesis are not the only manufacturers susceptible to relay theft of course. I understand picking on Kia and Hyundai, but not necessarily Nissan/Infinity since the rate of theft for Kia/Hyundai due to this has been more highly publicized following the "Kia Boys" thefts that allowed - number of their cars to be stolen with a usb thumb drive to turn on some car models to the point that some insurance companies would not issue new policies on select vehicles from Kia/Hyundai for a time.
