They're good printers. Not quite as plug and play as the Bambu but for $200 this is unbeatable. I've had this for about a month and a Bambu p1s for two months and while the Bambu is superior it's impressive how good the Anker is for 1/3 the price

Trying to decide... I was going to buy this printer last week, but BB playing games rasied it to $240 mid day after I sold my ender. Made me look at the a1 mini, now the a1... and now the PS1.

I really only need the a1 mini, but the ps1 would just cover everything. I was going to write the m5c off.. but tell me more. you have the ps1 and the m5c. There is an a1 mini behind me at the office. coworker has one and it is amazing for out of the box.

I've had it for a week (always seems to be this price on Amazon). No "head unit" (everything must be done via PC or app) which to be honest doesn't bother me one bit. Pretty cool that you can monitor printer status and even send prints remotely at this price point. So far I am liking it better than my Ender 3 v3 SE.

For the same price you can get the A1 Mini from Bambu. Sure it's a slightly smaller bed, but for 95% of prints that won't be a problem. A1 Mini's print quality and ease of use is worth getting the smaller bed size over this Anker. That or get the A1 with a larger bed, 256mm cubed, for just $339 from Bambu, again with the best print quality and ease of use.

Right now I have a ender 3 I bought years ago. I upgraded the hotend bltouch and all that it worked ok but I had to tinkerwith all the time to work so I just stopped using it. I'd really like to start printing again with my 8 year old son it seems this Bambu is the best option now? Is it worth the extra over this 200 dollar printer? Is the multi color one good? Or is it better to just stick with single?

Multi-color is "cooler" but probably not required to keep an elementary aged kid entertained. Mine just like "merging" 3D models. They would do things like putting a top hat on an octopus. Now that they are in High School, they are not as easily entertained.

But I am in a similar situation, my Monoprice Mini stopped printing reliably without hours of tinkering, so it started collecting dust.

It seems like it's a solid entry level 3d printer from this review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH-ebuRoevE

Bambu also makes good printers, but they aren't without their own problems. Ultimately, no matter what you get you'll need to tinker eventually - personally I'm leaning towards a creality v3 ke. Yes I'll have to tinker and upgrade it out of the box, but I'll certain I'll be able to maintain it.

With this/bambu, my problem is whether I'll be able to find community resources about how to fix it/maintain it when I inevitably encounter a problem.

Not worried about the community. I appreciated my ender and might get another on the side to mess with, but I am happy it is sold. I work to get it printing good and get some good prints... then it just craps you have to do it all again. What a waste of time and filament. Most people have hard their fair share in tinkering and want to start printing. As someone online said, Bambu takes you from a 3D Printer Hobby to a 3D Printing Hobby. Just seems more value comes from bambu, but the m5c has free shipping or pickup local from Best Buy.

I am a glutton for punishment... I want to try to the M5(c), but it just seems like I will be the one with issues. I see this a1 mini behind me that just works. From what I see with the M5C, they work and then break... Anker does not support.... I am thinking to just wait until black friday. If this printer hits $150, i will get it. But IF the P1S goes down anymore, I will get it... IF nothing goes down, well... will just get the a1 mini for $200. I would have bought this printer last week if Best Buy was not screwing over plus members with the prices. I would have made it work. Something says to get it and return it on day 59 of the 60 return window. That way I can get a real test if I like it or not. And i can wait for other deals

Funny enough Bambu put together a rather impressive wiki for almost every issue/maintenance point. I wish more manufacturers would go that route.

You weren't kidding, it's fantastic! https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/home

I'm one that likes to tinker/tune/mod so I may still go creality, but now I'm very much considering bambu

Quit messing around. Just get a bambu. which one you ask? doesn't matter. they are all very good. the A1 would be the best comparison to this, but price wise it would be the A1 mini. But honestly, that extra amount you spend is well worth every penny. I've donated all my other printers once I got a Bambu. You won't regret your puchase.

Anker stopped trying to make 3d printers after this model. If you think that is a good sign, then go for it.

You will have no support, no replacement parts, and no community help going forward. Good luck!

These are generally good hardware but I would be worried about future support since the company is pulling the plug and they aren't likely to have the community support that some of the other brands have. I also don't like the headless model. I've been very used to the USB/SD card file transfer. That perhaps is part of why the Bambu printers aren't as appealing to me.

As for what to get instead for around $200, I find the Bambu A1 Mini a bit of a mixed option. The plusses are great print quality and speed. Even if it isn't literally the fastest or best in any particular comparison, it's always close to the top. It also has a great ecosystem if that is your thing. However, I do worry about the smaller print bed. While 180x180 is big enough for many of the jobs, the Ender sized 220x220 is almost a default standard. That means many files from places like Thingiverse are designed to work with a 220x220 print area and may not fit on a 180mm bed. I would be concerned that it's just a bit more limiting that I would want to accept.

The other limitation for me is that there are other, good options around $200. My personal favorite is the Flashforge Adventure 5M. They are normally $300 but with an occasional sale on ebay they have been $240 which is what I paid for mine. The FF is basically equal to the A1 in terms of speed and quality (not sure which is actually first in either category). Given my workflow both are similar in terms of effort. I don't print straight from the cloud, instead I download or CAD the files, slice them myself and thumbdrive to the printer. So the overall workflows are similar. The FF 5M does support network printing, I just don't do it.

Compared to the Mini, the 5M has the larger/standard build volume and it's a core XY machine so you aren't rapidly shaking your print while it's printing.
