I played most of them... In the early 90s. Definitely great at the time, but I doubt they'd hold up to someone used to modern games. I still bought it for nostalgia though I doubt I'll actually play them.

Yes, when they were new in the late 80's/early 90''s. They have a certain nostalgic charm to them, but unless you were a fan at the time or REALLY like retro-RPGs, I would pass.

I have occasionally fired them up in the years since for nostalgia's sake and can safely say that they are best left as fond memories.

That said, if this kind of thing is your jam, this is a good deal for licensed versions that should run ok on modern hardware.

This isn't six games, it's six collections. It comes out to about 20 games. This includes most of SSI's most well known D&D games.

There's a different collection for an extra $11 that includes the rest. https://store.steampowered.com/bu..._Classics/

That's a good one. Sort of like a D&D skin on Golden Axe, but more dynamic.

Those games were Shadow Over Mystara and Tower of doom. Similar to Golden Axe, but with light RPG elements and a branching story.

The Gold Box games were great especially the Krynn games. Their UI isn't the best, but they did make a neat little program called Gold Box companion that is useful to help out. https://gbc.zorbus.net/

Some of these plot lines and locations can be played in DDO or the Neverwinter mmo.

Never understood why DragonStrike was not part of the Krynn series bundle.

OMFG Nerdgasm for the full collection with Spelljammer.

This collection is RPG at its rawest/purest. Definitely not for the modern gamer.

This and Knights of Legend are my "good old days". What I wouldn't give to have all of this on my iPad.
