I bought the Spark 40 amp and then they released the Spark 2 a few weeks later and I have had so much fun with the Spark 40 that I also bought the Spark 2. It is so impressive that these new modulating amps can sound like any amp you choose and all of the different effects and pedals you have the option of using. The Spark community being able to make patch's and upload them for others to use is so much fun. I spent about three hours just playing the one scale I know using a patch someone made for the sound of David Gilmore from Pink Floyd and just had a blast.

Just FYI, they're known as modeling amps because they use mathematical models of amp behavior to approximate the effect that a real amplifier has on an input signal. "Modulating" means changing or varying something -- a tremolo pedal modulates the volume of a signal by turning it up and down automatically.

Good deal, but when are they going to come out with a bass version?

I practice my bass through my Spark w headphones all the time. Get the extension cabinet if you want to rock out.
FYI, I just bought a mini to have in my office (this is my third Spark amp). I absolutely love these things. Buy one if you are on the fence.

I would not buy spark 40 now, when the spark 2 is available. For a lot of people (myself included), Spark 40 has too much lows. I'm using mine with bass reduced to almost nothing on EQ, and it still sounds muddy to my taste. It was reported, that spark 2 has brighter sound. Didn't hear it though.
