Genuinely want to know if anyone has some pro/con opinions on this? Looks pretty okay for $250. How does it compare to some of those instore only microcenter options at $150ish a week or 2 ago?
The only use is web browser usage while traveling so I can look things up easier than with my cellphone.

This is fine, IMO.. You might could get it for closer to $200. come Christmas sales, but, goodness, backlit keyboard/fingerprint reader, 300 nits. If you need one now, I say get it.

If you just want a web browsing machine, I'd say get the Acer 515 Chromebook that's on SD right now for $100 less. It will do that basic task better than this laptop, since it won't have the overhead of Windows.
As far as cons, the screen on this is dim and does not cover the color gamut well at all.
If you just need a basic web browsing and light use device, go for a Chromebook all the way. You'll also have access to Play Store apps if you have others uses you want for it.
Edit: Looks like you can use the same coupon in the SD thread for the Acer 515 on the 514. Gets you basically the same price for a touch screen model. Processor in the 515 is a little better, but I think it's well worth the tradeoff to get the 514 and touch.
