Good detergent. Has 4 enzymes to break apart organic stains: Subtilisin for proteins, and Amylase, Cellulase, Mannanase for carbohydrates. The presence of enzymes is what differentiates budget detergent and premium ones.

That said, some experts say that it's better to use non-enzyme detergent on natural fibers like cotton. That's because natural fibers are also made up of carbohydrates and proteins. Gentle detergents like Woolite do not have enzymes.

My approach to laundry is the same I have for medicine, mostly because I'm cheap. Use the minimum possible to achieve the results you need. Start with a budget detergent without enzymes, e.g. Tide Simply. See if it meets your cleaning needs. For everyday clothes, that's usually good enough. If not, keep going up a notch until you find a satisfactory detergent (with the best being Tide 10x). This approach saves money, is gentler on your clothes and is better for the environment. I use Tide Simply for my everyday laundry and Tide 10x for extra dirty and smelly clothes.

Agree in theory. I'm a long time Tide user and believe it's a quality detergent. But I can't get past the obnoxious smell of Tide Simply; it triggers migraines. So we stick with Tide Free & Clear - Gentle for delicates; Hygenic Clean for sports & work clothes.

Multibuy Discount only shows with QTY of 4 for the same product. Cannot mix and match to reach 4 items. Kind of kills the deal as I don't want 4 of any one product.
