these are some great specs for the price. Especially for homelab/media server use. (As long as you don't have a need for SATA drives)
Double the performance in regards to what? This has a last gen zen 4 chip and 610m integrated graphics. M4 crushes this in raw CPU and GPU performance.
Also, i is using a standard mini-ITX form factor motherboard (I linked that too) with a Mobile HX series Processor and integrated heatsink. So, you can move to any Chassis you want, in the future.
Regarding the RTX 4060 + 32Gb ram + 1TB SSD config, that price at this point, can get you a lot of full tower desktops with TX 4060 Ti but that is not the purpose of this build in the 1st place.

Board/cpu is still only $360 on Amazon if you don't want their dumb case. I just started setting mine up - first one was DOA - hence why I waited for it to be on Amazon, not direct from MINISFORUM...

In4one. It's almost double performance than the popular Mac mini and you can throw in however much ram you want and even a damn 4060.
I would definitely buy this over a Mac mini personally but the Mac mini at $500-$600 is a lot of power for the price. You get essentially cutting edge single core CPU performance and much more onboard GPU performance than this. This minisforum will have more multi core performance which is probably the most important thing for productivity loads. Plus the upgradability is awesome.

I don't like advertising the Mac mini because they make upgrading the SSD and ram extremely hard / impossible so no serious productive person should opt for the entry model with the attractive price. Doubling the ram and storage actually doubles the price on the Mac mini, it's pretty absurd and actually prices the Mac mini with stuff like an RTX 4070 based PC...

Lol. While I've been waiting a month and a half for my original order to ship out on this it's dropped even further in price. Awesome! Cool computer but don't ever order direct from the company.

I have a question regarding the topic but not that specific item, if somebody don't mind answering. I am looking for a simple desktop with 16 gb ram, office desktop. I can't find anything better than refurbished acer laptop deal(eBay, $289 or lower, amd7, 16ram, touchscreen refurb deal). Are laptops started to be cheaper than desktops or am I doing something wrong? Need to get just one desktop for the office because of regulations, Texas laws asks us to have at least one pc in our office, they don't accept laptops.
Sounds like you just need a prebuilt mini PC. A beelink SER5 can be had for under $300, how far under depends on how long you are willing to wait and how much time you are willing to search Amazon. They also have far better like the SER 6,7,8 and 9 but they will obviously cost more. I would get a beelink one, they are the best chinese PC maker. Feel free to ask any questions needed, we are here to help

This happened to me too but I ordered the barebones version. The original order promised 7 days until shipped, I emailed them after 7 days, got a new promised date, emailed on that date after nothing, etc. I went through about 3 fake shipping dates until they told me the 27th of this month. I might demand my money back and just buy it again since this is like $40 less than when I ordered it, and they're obviously not getting it to me until at least Dec 5 anyway based on this post. Just wish they didn't lie to me about it.
That's what I just did. Demanded a refund for original order and ordered at the new price (probably a bad idea actually). We'll see what they say. Been waiting so long don't really care when it gets here now.

I've tried to warn people, always buy your chinese mini pcs from Amazon. Also it's best to stick to beelink but I don't think they make these MoDTs

I sent them an email earlier today basically saying "refund me the difference or cancel my order" and they actually did it! They just now emailed me and said they refunded the $40 difference. I'm surprised they did something actually cool right after sucking so bad. But it worked out for them I guess, I'm willing to wait now

Yeah I get that. I always stalk what I'm looking for on Amazon until I find the price I'm willing to pay. But I haven't bought a Minisforum in years and it seems like they don't do as big of a discounts as some of the other companies do on Amazon.

The problem isn't just the wait to get your PC. The real problem is if the PC is a lemon. There CS isn't the fastest so it's going to take awhile to even get a OK for a exchange and then the shipping time back and forth it can be a pretty big hassle. Minisforum isn't going to screw you, they will help you and back their stuff but they are just slow in all their processes.

The barebone price is great. But this case seems only compatible with low profile GPU card, and the LP 4060 is overpriced. Correct me if I am wrong.
How about using usb gpu bay?

It doesn't have a fast enough port to support this.

Or for only $30 more you get a PSU and a case. I personally like the case despite being limited to an LP 4060.

M4 crushes 7940hx in raw CPU performance is the biggest joke I have ever heard. Even the highest spece M4 max is still far from a 7940hx.

You're right. 7940hx = Multicore is better due to more cores and threads. M4 = much better single core and gpu.
7940hx beat that crap m4 by about 100% and you are saying "multi core is better". M4 beat 7940hx single core by roughly 10% and you are saying "much better". Dude. What are you on?
