I had the carlinkit one previously before it crapped out on me and this one is way smaller which is nice, but might be missing some features. It worked fine in my 2017 Ford Escape - plugged it in, connected and worked.
The audio streaming seems a little delayed, but nothing terrible. Connecting only took a couple seconds at start up (I think faster than the carlinkit).
A couple negatives: you can't connect multiple phones - connected my wife's after mine and then mine wouldn't connect in so I assume the bluetooth profile or whatever only supports one phone on the device.
Also there is no way to exit out of the "connect a phone" screen so my wife wasn't able to get back to the native car UI easily.
Overall happy with it for now for the $20 purchase.
