We've had a lot of the Monster Jam ones too, and the remote's always break before the actual car.
This is a lot of fun and works great in water. The remote also gives warnings when you're getting too far away and when the battery is running low so it doesn't get stranded in a lake.
There are definitely negatives though, it's not the fastest on land compared to other Monster Jam RCs if you've had them before. It also tips over a lot on land, not the most stable thing. As for using it in snow, it's a lot of fun but the snow gets lodged under the tracks pretty quickly if it's wet snow. And it gets stuck too.
Overall, the kids love it and it's such a good value at this price.
