Eh… I've never heard Hydro Flask be called off brand before…
Complete disagree. I think it's superior to Stanley in regards to weight distribution. The lower center of gravity makes it feel more stable and less likely to tip over. The flexible straw has a better mouth feel and is easier to disassemble for cleaning. The lid is also more accessible bc it does not require a screw on or off.
A few years ago, this was the go to brand for all the Rich suburban moms and their kids. It's funny how a few years later people don't even know the brand.

I mean like hydro flask has been hugely popular for years. But then again Stanley insulated containers have been around for decades. But hydro flask on its own is no off brand Stanley. I believe they pioneered the insulated cup method that's popular today.

However.

If anything Stanley isn't a knockoff really at all. It's Al a solid long term company in its own right and would arguable be an off brand hydro flask based on who released their double walled insulated cups first.

However iirc Stanley was a leader in double walled insulated containers but basically took that idea from the company we call thermos back in the 1940s.

So the whole double walled vacuumed sealed insulated beverage container idea can arguably be traced back to its humble origins at the thermos company.

Thermos —> Stanley—-> hydro flask.

Understanding that hydro flask was the first cup format drink container using the tech from thermos and stanky combined. Smilie.

So to sum it up. Thermos is the OG. Stanley insulated beverage cin

Its a knockoff Stanley because its a clone. But this is worse feel, the weight balance is different and off balance compared to Stanley when you hold it by the handle.

+1. It was Hydroflask and Swell bottles. Now plebs don't even recognize the brands. Just goes to show how all of this has been and will always be about marketing.

Well, yeti is always yeti. I have this hydroflask and it is a good cup, except that compared to a Stanley or yeti the straw seems to take much more force to sip out of. I don't use it anymore due to this and the volume of water I drink a day.
