If anything Stanley isn't a knockoff really at all. It's Al a solid long term company in its own right and would arguable be an off brand hydro flask based on who released their double walled insulated cups first.
However iirc Stanley was a leader in double walled insulated containers but basically took that idea from the company we call thermos back in the 1940s.
So the whole double walled vacuumed sealed insulated beverage container idea can arguably be traced back to its humble origins at the thermos company.
Thermos —> Stanley—-> hydro flask.
Understanding that hydro flask was the first cup format drink container using the tech from thermos and stanky combined.
