personal choice, but I would not pay $1151 for refurbished, instead I would go with the below. I saw some YouTube videos and compared the reviews as well. Of course, S gives better clarity but the price you save can be used for other lenses.

No comparison, two different lenses in quality and photo taking quality. Most of us buy used cameras and lenses. How is getting a refurb with a warranty a bad idea.
