The impact wrench is handy to loosen the lug nuts after the boneheads at the shop over-tighten the lug nuts after service. I do not use the impact wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the correct torque. The battery will probably discharge more from storage between tire rotation schedules than from lug nut removal depending on how many cars you own. Now you have to buy some impact sockets.............
When they overtighten them this DW is probably not going to bust them loose. Even the big pro air guns have a hard time. Then depending on how high the torque setting is, it may not even be able to tighten them properly. You still will need a torque wrench to do it properly.

bump

I'm really holding out for that DW impact tool and it hasn't come down in price yet in the northeast, or so it seems.

Has anyone else found it in this area... can this be a regional thing?

Found one of the penny cordless jigsaws!! Local HD hasnt had them in forever, tonight they had one with a beat to heck box, but the saw and manual were new inside.

Price checked it at self checkout (on mute!), came up a penny, added to transaction and booked outta there.

I actually had to get other stuff so i dumped the jigsaw in my vehicle and went back in. No one said a word.

Gee, I did call the Apex store and the DeWalt impact tool is indeed $150. But not around here.

How's the price drop go spread around the country before?

i gave up waiting for the price drop to happen in socal... it may not even happen at all. i ended up buying one off craigslist for $100; it was brand new. there's someone else selling them on craigslist for $100, but i think they are slightly used. if anyone is interested, PM me and I'll pass along their contact info. They are DW059 models.

I'm giving up, too. Asked the friendly old floor guy who marks things down, you know, the one with the portable markdown machine on wheels, and he told me some stores just mark down slow moving stuff to get shelf space back and that likely that's what it was. He couldn't find the 150 price anywhere.

There'll be more deals.

to be fair, gound floor employees NEVER know about sales or price changes up front. Apprently it's been a problem in the past where once employees know about major sales/mark downs, they buy up everything the morning the price is marked down and resell on ebay/craigslist/what have you. the ground floor employees get a price adjustment printout the morning they need to change prices and that's the only time they will know if there is a price change. at least, this is what some HD employees have told me...
