No, don't give advice that are not researched: this comes with a SX 12s drivetrain, which means HG splined cassette and necessarily HG splined freehub.

All the Shimano 12s groupsets use Microspline freehubs for the cassette, so unless you bastardize and keep the SX or NX cassette and replace only shifter/RD, you will need a new rear hub to replace...or a MS rear wheel altogether. some companies use sunrace or equivalent 3rd party HG cassettes to keep HG hubs that they get cheaper. was really popular hack during the covid shortages. These cassettes are pretty pricey for retail buyers tho...

But half the "magic" with Shimano 12s is using Shimano's own HG+ chain on OEM Shimano cassettes with HG+ ramps...which also requires a chainring with HG+ compatible teeth to accommodate the chain...and...I hope you get it by now that it's complicated and peeps should not just casually name-drop groupsets when cross compatibility is not there.

If you want XT and you dont fixate on 12s, your best bet to keep using the HG hub and go for the 11s Linkglide version: slightly less smooth than the 12s XT, but advertised as 3x the lifetime. Favored by eMTBers that run the clock a lot.

If you can live with 11s and don't fixate on XT moniker, the Deore M5100 11s is great, has HG+ (11s HG+ chain doesn't need a special chainring), has great range (11-51T) and better ramping jumps between the low gears than all eagle 12s cassettes and costs as much as the 10s Microspline Advent X (also better than SX). Would recommend getting the ultegra/XT 11s chain even if you go for the Deore grade drivetrain.
GT is a conglomerate of Pon Holdings who has other bike brands like Cannondale, Mongoose, Schwinn etc. Pon Holdings is not going out of business. I've heard they will have Cannondale handle GT warranty but I haven't verified it myself
definitely a good entry level full suspension mtb. fork and shock won't need upgrades and you can replace the bottom-of-the-line SX drivetrain as it wears out.

The company just went out of business but the components are off the shelf. Might be worth a bet.

I believe that fork is the same as a Fox Rhythm. This would be a great first mountain bike for someone at this price.

How would you get warranty support if the company just went of business? I'm assuming your SOL?

Don't take my word for it, but component warranty should be thru their respective manufacturers. You would be SOL on the frame warranty and any proprietary parts.

That one is also a very nice deal, but the Sensor is easily worth the extra $190 bucks.

I'm interested in the carbon frame models at 50% but not sure what is the difference between the Sensor ST carbon elite https://www.jensonusa.com/GT-Sens...ite-Bike-7 and the Semsor Carbon elite https://www.jensonusa.com/GT-Sens...ite-Bike-5

ST stands for "short travel"
Not sure about the rear
non-ST has a 150mm fork
ST model is a 140mm fork

Agreed, unless people are destroying the frame directly most parts ought to be simple to source.

Much better deal for the gt elite! https://www.jensonusa.com/GT-Sens...edium=AVLK

I'd also spend addtl $250 and get the shimano 12s xt groupset off ebay!
