No idea where this rando, factually incorrect take came from🤣

I have this - it is a cheap microscope - but it's still an actual functional microscope.

It's a nice kit - comes with some premade slides and is perfect to explain things like hair, skin cells, insects to little ones.

tip: buy some disposable lens wipes (cheap at walmart, others) because giving a kid a microscope and expecting that they won't hit the lens with the samples is impossible and cheap lenses scratch easily from paper towels etc
You sure on that? Seems like having a battery, lights, and multiple zoom options would lead me to believe this is a legit (kid quality) microscope.
Got it today and it's too cheap and returning

This is no different than a wooden version from Melissa and Doug. You must use your imagination for it to work. That said, it seems like a cheap price for a future scientist.

This is not a $72 microscope. You can get similar one on Temu for under $10 without the case.

Too cheap in what way? Poor optics, insufficient lighting, bad construction...?

I got this for my little 7 year old cousin and it was already delivered. Apparently it was a hit, so I'd say it's a great value. I'm told you can even create your own slides for it, which I was hoping for as I remember doing this for a microscope my mom bought when I was little. It was really nice to share something educational and fun with a kid who needs toys like this.
