What is QNED? Is it similar to QLED or OLED?

If QNED is anything like the Nano IPS panels, then I'll pass. Too much bloom and halo effect on bright objects w/in a dark background.

QNED is basically LG's version of QLED. But the QNED85T is a substantial step down from the older QNED85. Notably, this is an edge-lit TV, unlike the QNED85's mini-LED full array local dimming.

TCL QM7 is much better for about the same price. (Best Buy [bestbuy.com], Walmart [walmart.com], Amazon [amazon.com])

The qm7 is a pc of junk. I owned 1 for a week and returned it. Yes, it has lots of nits and brightens the heck out of HDR but even in 4k the picture was not clear. In SDR which I do tons of viewing the upscaling sucked. I'd have to constantly adjust the settings going from app to app. The clarity of images just wasn't there. It's like TCL made this tv to do real well in professional reviews, suckering the reviewers and the public, and didnt think clarity would be important to a nit crazed press and public. It's mediocre, somewhat primitive, frustrating and disappointing. I ended up with a Samsung Q80c 65" for $748 at Walmart. It's kind of older tech without the mini leds but it's clarity outshines the qm7. I also don't have to adjust the settings going from Tubi to Netflix to Pluto etc. etc.

Agree. Their upscaling technology is really bad. Looking at specs it will beat every other major brand but in reality, it is just midrange TV. Even 1080p upscaling is also not that great. Any given day I will go for Samsung or LG over this over hyped junk. I don't own it but when I saw it in my friend's home the picture quality is just average and didn't realize it is QM7 until he mentioned it.
