Last time, same seller was selling Costco returns.
I think the actual seller on eBay is quite important.
I'm not familiar with them, are you?

They seem like a big ebay seller. and they've been posted multiple times on forums lately ..

1. "Open box" is a broad category
2. TBD on that warranty
headline reads 1 year, but description reads
"For functionality, this item comes with a 60 day warranty from the date of delivery. If a problem occurs, please contact us with a detailed description of the issue so we can assist you. If we are unable to assist, we will issue an RMA form, and in some cases a prepaid label to have the item sent back for a replacement. If a replacement is needed, the same model will be sent."

so...maybe just 60 days? and maybe you pay for shipping.

Hmm is the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro worth it at $100 more than this?

I hadn't upgraded by GoPro since like the 4 and planned to use it for skiing & kayaking.

I assumed GoPro was still top dog, but it seems DJI and insta360 have compelling options now too.

The Action 5 Pro is pretty great. Definitely better for night recording.

I also have the same question. And I am curious if this would be better for photography and video recording over the Samsung s24 ultra. Is it significantly better for these purposes over a smartphone? I plan to use it for travel purposes.

Gopro is still top dog when it comes to image quality, field of view, slow motion and image stabilization. Check out this comparison https://youtu.be/F1OwhtjaPVI?si=C5LufXFiBWIcPhCA
I've been watching and reading comparisons on action cams for what seems like forever now and I still can't make up my mind 100% on which one to choose for my needs. I mainly want one to record my motorcycle rides on pavement so an action cam that has good image stabilization along with superior wind suppression is most important to me. I watched the entire video and read almost all of the 762 comments in the comment section and it's appalling to me how many comments in there complain about the GoPro's reliability with overheating and freezing along with poor low-light capabilities, poor battery life, long recharge times, and start-up lag. I don't think I would ever want a GoPro for those reasons alone. So, for me it's either the DJI Osmo Action 5 or the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 or is there a cheaper alternative worth buying that would meet my needs?

You cannot fake DJi mic 2 though. GoPro media mod is a joke.

It is an extremely wide lens! It is only good for very wide shots like landscapes or groups of people indoors. But for everything else photography wise it is HORRIBLE. It can't zoom in, make sharp or not distorted images with any detail.

Spent a good amount of time researching this last week. As others stated, the night vids may be better, but I am using mine for a ski trip. I ended up getting the hero12 for this same price on amz, and added the 2.0 max lens for another $50 (used). The DJI or insta360 can not compete with this wide angle setup...

Hero 12 is a no go for ski trips bro. You NEED the 13. It addresses the major shortcomings with the 12 in cold conditions.
I picked up this same deal with the hero 13 black, 64gb microsd, and 2 batteries brand new for $299 on Amazon like a week ago.
For those asking about the DJI, it's a smaller cam, with better features, handles dramatic lighting changes much better, handles the cold no problem, and pairs with the DJI mic 2 seamlessly. It's a better ecosystem overall. But the hero 13 is trying to get GoPro back on track. That said, the DJI still stomps it out....but I still bought the GoPro.

You actually want a hero 13 black with a ND filter. The ND filter system for GoPro is leaps and bounds better than DJIs. You can work around the audio. 13 black doesn't have the issues you mentioned, those are from hero 12 and under.

True, but I'm not sure that subscription benefit would be applied to a Go Pro purchased from quickshipelectronics, especially open box/slightly used.
I had a goPro replaced a few months back, as long as you have the subscription they never ask. There's no process that involves a receipt. You literally set up your gopro and it's on your account.

The warranty situation on this isn't clear. The listing says "FREE 1 YEAR WARRANTY, 2 DAY SHIP, 30 DAY FREE RETURNS", but in the description it says, "For functionality, this item comes with a 60 day warranty from the date of delivery."

Seems a bit sketchy.
